About Brain Drain

This is the personal weblog of Brian L. Belen (that’s me).

I started this blog in 2006 thinking it would allow me to keep in touch with friends and family back home since I was away studying in New York.

Unfortunately, hardly any of them took to reading it (d-oh!), so I switched gears and started writing about the things I have a passion for: books, technology, video games, slideware presentations, and so on. Happily, Brain Drain has developed its own readership base in the process — and some friends and family have decided to start reading, too.

It’s an unusual spread of things you’ll find on the blog, where I might be writing about something largely academic in one post then geeking out on some video game or other in the next. But I’ve never been a “usual” type of person. So here it is: a collection of the semi-random things that zip through my head, an occasional portrait of my unique if sometimes disjointed world view, my private thoughts for public consumption.

Have a look around. Drop me a line if you wish. And if you see something you like, tell other people about it. Who knows? Maybe if enough people start reading my blog, the rest of my friends and family will have a go at it, too.

Thanks for reading.
